A dedicated advocate for District 8, I believe a strong community is built on affordable housing, quality education, transportation, healthcare, thriving businesses, safer neighborhoods, and clean air and water. During my first term on Allegheny County Council, I successfully worked with leaders to keep the Monroeville Convention Center open, negotiated the reopening of Shuman Detention Center, and secured a balanced budget without layoffs and program cuts.

I sponsored key legislation to make eligible County real property published annually and require creation of a complete streets plan for municipalities to work cooperatively. I co-sponsored ordinances that streamline property assessment office practices, offer tax credits for volunteer first responders, update campaign regulations, prohibit fracking in county parks, and require a countywide climate action plan.

In addition to these accomplishments, I am actively addressing economic development and blight, working on job creation initiatives, assisting with long-term planning for volunteer firefighters, and advocating for improved public safety and mental health services.
